Troutman Fire Department accepted donations from local citizens to purchase a giant flag for display at the Troutman Independence Day Parade and other special events. Scottie and Kim Brown of Zootastic, Register of Deeds Duck Wyatt, and Independence Day Parade Chair Chuck Gallyon provided the money for the department to purchase the flag.

Department members thanked donors and displayed the flag, which was hung between two ladder trucks, at Troutman Town Hall on Thursday evening at the final Troutman Independence Day Parade planning meeting. The flag will have its first official outing on Saturday at 11 a.m. during the 13th annual parade.
