Troutman Chair Company’s 5th Annual Front Porch Fest will be Saturday, May 18, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at its new location at the the Iredell County Fairgrounds midway near Troutman.

To create a hometown feel on the midway, Troutman Chair has built large farm tables down its grassy middle on which folks can eat. They are also providing rockers for attendees to sit in to enjoy the scheduled entertainment throughout the day.

The Iredell County Fairgrounds are pet and smoke free.

Jeremy Shaw, owner of The Cedar Stump Pub and Sound Wave DJ & Entertainment, will emcee the event."

"You know he is the life of the party, but not only that, he is a faithful and devoted resident and business owner who works hard to support his community!" Troutman Parks and Recreation Coordinator Emily Watson said. "We appreciate him big time!”

The event will focus on promoting downtown businesses. It will feature live music, a free kids zone, delicious food, beer and wine, and fun for the whole family.

JJ Hipps and the Hideaway will perform from 10 a.m. to noon. This three-piece electric blues band out of Lenoir has a rock steady rhythm and blues section with sonic influences from Stevie Ray Vaughan, Freddie King and Elvis.

Troutman’s hometown band, 3rd Creek Bluegrass, will perform from noon to 2:30 p.m. Local songstress Karla Kincaid will perform pop tunes from 2:30 to 5 p.m.

In the Kids Zone area, Iredell Charter Academy’s chorus and band will perform. South Iredell High School's Viking Voices, Acrofitness, and Tilley’s Dance Studio students will also display their talents.

Pomolas Equestrian Center will be offering free pony rides for children from 1 to 4 p.m. at Front Porch Fest this year. The Little Red Choo Choo and Engineer Dan will offer fun rides for the family throughout the day.

Food options include Tony’s Tacos, Wilson’s Weinie Wagon, Southern Treats and Full Belly Deli, Hillbilly Phillly, Tastee Ice, and Old Towne Sweets.

Sponsors for the event include Main Stage sponsor Finley Chiropractic, Kids Zone sponsor Mooresville Pediatric Dentistry, and supporting sponsors Piedmont Dental Associates (Troutman location), Puriti Labs, Royal Properties of the Carolinas, Sovereign Investment Group, Greater Statesville Chamber, and Smith Douglas Homes.

Watson asks that vendors arrive and set up for the festival at between 7 and 9:30 a.m. They will need to bring any supplies needed, including tents, tables, chairs, and power sources.

Vendors should come to the front gate entrance from Main St. (across from Kat's Patch) for an event staff member to direct them to their space. They should plan to keep their booths open until 5 p.m.

Vendor parking is within the midway so that they will not have to carry their items far. This will also allow for easy restocking. However, only one vehicle per vendor will be allowed within the midway area. Any additional vehicles will need to be parked in general event parking.

Contact Watson at 704-528-7600 or email her at with any questions.
