The Raiders are off to a 2-0 start after following up a 4-1 win over Alexander Central on Tuesday with a 3-2 decision over Starmount on Wednesday.

Head coach Tyler Carter was pleased with the Raiders' communication and teamwork in Tuesday's opener against ACHS, which was postponed by stormy weather on Monday.

Juan Nieto tallied a pair of scores, including a penalty kick, and Matthias Moorfield and Froylan Luna added goals. Evan Younger, Zach Pope and Jonah Bamberger were credited with assists.

Keeper Dane Coltrane made six saves for North Iredell.

In Wednesday's road game at Starmount, the Raiders raced out to a 3-0 lead and then held off the Rams' comeback effort.

Luna, Nieto and David Hernandez scored for North Iredell. Thomas Mann assisted on a score, and Coltrane had five saves to earn the win in goal.

The Raiders will attempt to stay unbeaten when they play host to Ashe County on Thursday.

After their season opener at West Iredell was postponed Monday by thunder and lightning, the Greyhounds traveled to Bandys on Tuesday.

Statesville netted four first-half goals with Edgar Arroyo striking twice, while Jamie Woodard and Camilio Restrepo also found the back of the net. Gio Gonzalez assisted on two of the goals and Restrepo added an assist.

Greyhounds goalkeeper Sam Buckner was credited with five saves.

Following Wednesday's rainout of the rescheduled West Iredell match, Statesville returns to the pitch on Monday against Newton-Conover.
