North Iredell girls rally past Statesville to win Holiday Classic

The North Iredell girls basketball team edged rival Statesville, 55-54, on Saturday to capture the Iredell County Sports Hall of Fame Holiday Classic championship game.
It was a total team effort for the Raiders, who got key contributions on the offensive end of the court from eight players to win a back-and-forth contest on their home court.
Juliane Walter led North Iredell with 11 points, and tournament MVP Mackie Allen scored eight of her 10 in the decisive fourth quarter.
Addie Pennell also contributed 10 for the Raiders, and Bailey Barzee and Rachel Lalonda each had nine.
Reserves Emily Myers and Heather Huie made huge three-pointers in the fourth quarter for their only points of the night.
Statesville led 25-24 at halftime and 39-37 through three quarters, but North Iredell outscored the Greyhounds 18-15 in the final frame to win.
Danasia Gray and Tyasia Sharpe had 16 points apiece for Statesville, and Aasia McNeill has 10 points.

► Lake Norman 55, Mooresville 33: Lauren Sullivan scored 25 points to lead the Wildcats to victory over their crosstown rivals.
Madison Saunders added 13 points for Lake Norman, which jumped out to a 22-5 lead and cruised from their.
Alecsai Allen scored 12 points and Olivia Marshall chipped in 10 for the Blue Devils.
► Pine Lake Prep 46, West Iredell 45: Carley Scholl scored 14 points to lead the Pride over the Warriors on Saturday. Megan Reidy added eight points for Pine Lake.
West Iredell outscored Pine Lake 32-22 after intermission, but a valiant comeback effort fell just short.
Lariyah Clark led the Warriors with 14 points, KK Heraggans had 12 and Nicole Rhyne added 10.
