Letter to the Editor: Local restaurants stepping up to help family after tragic accident
To the Editor:
Big news! The best place in Statesville to get a burger, Broad Street Burger Co., will be donating a portion of its proceeds on Monday, March 11, from 5 to 10 p.m. to benefit the family of Nick Coombes, who suffered a tragic loss last week in a car accident on Jennings Road.
Nick's daughter, Alyssa, is still in the hospital recovering from the injuries she sustained. She's the toughest young lady I know.
Come out, grab a bite to eat, and enjoy the evening. Support your local business and, most importantly, know that you are helping a great cause! I don't care if you aren't even hungry, invite a family or person that might be in need of a hot meal and let them enjoy one. People helping people -- it's a simple concept. I fully expect the inside to be packed, sidewalks to be packed, and to see the biggest turnout in Broad Street Burger's history to support this great cause.
On Tuesday, March 26, three other restaurants will be helping raise money. Sub Express has agreed to donate a portion of its sales from 4 to 8:30 p.m., and Rice Fun and Chick-fil-A will do the same for sales from 5 to 8 p.m.
Put the rubber to the road people, mark these dates down and please share this! God bless you all!
