Ms. Shanitta "Nitta" Monique Allison, 28, was born in Iredell County on September 30, 1990, and was the daughter of Allen Christopher “Chris” Allison and Betty White Shaver. She peacefully entered into eternal rest on Monday, March 4, 2019, at Duke University Hospital in Durham, N.C., following an extended illness.

She was a 2009 graduate of North Iredell High School and received her CNA license from Mitchell Community College in 2013. She was a member of Miracle Tabernacle Church and loved to dance and cook. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Yvonne Stevenson Allison; her paternal grandfather, George Allison; her maternal grandmother, Helen Pruitt; and her maternal grandfather, Lawrence White.

She leaves to cherish the memory of her life her father, Allen Christopher “Chris” Allison of Statesville; her mother, Betty (Mark) Shaver of Statesville; two sisters, Clorrisa (Antionne) Heaggans and Alexis Allison, both of Statesville; three step-sisters, Nikki Shaver and Chasity (Brandon) Sharpe, both of Statesville, and Chelsea Shaver of Fayetteville; aunts and uncles, Nathan (Christine) Allison, Phyllis Allison Gooden, Billy R. Allison and Melinda (Paul) Everhart, all of Statesville, Lori (Bobby) Brooks of Charlotte, Jerry White of Winston-Salem, and Daniel Pruitt of Mocksville; six nephews and nieces whom she dearly loved, Aniyah, Arianna, Brianna, AuBree, A.J. and Shonnie; and a host of cousins including a special cousin, Na-Na Allison of Statesville, Miracle Tabernacle Church family, special friends, India Bennett, Destine Nichols, and Mely Wil; and dear friends.

Celebration of Life Services will be conducted Monday, March 11, 2019, at 2 p.m. at Chestnut Grove Baptist Church. Reverend Dale Gibson is Pastor. Evangelist Tina Mack will officiate, and Pastor Lonnie Harper will eulogize. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Shanitta will remain at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home until taken to the church to lie in state at 12:30 p.m. Members of the family will receive friends at the church from 1 to 2 p.m., but will assemble at the residence of her sister, Clorrisa (Antionne) Heaggans, 249 Trailway Drive, Statesville, at other times.
