Ronny Andrew Templeton Jr.
Ronny Andrew Templeton Jr., affectionately called "Temp,” was born in Statesville, N.C., on June 22, 1972. He was raised in Harmony, N.C., by his mother, Mary Ann Gaither Templeton Parsons. Ronny entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, June 26, 2019, at the Gordon Hospice House following an extended illness. He was preceded in death by his father, Ronny Andrew Templeton Sr.; his paternal grandfather Robert Templeton; and his maternal grandparents, Alton and Mary Gray Gaither.
He attended Harmony Elementary School, went on to graduate from North Iredell High School in 1990 and began a collegiate experience at Barber Scotia College in Concord, N.C. After a year of college, he joined the U.S. Navy, where he served for four years and was honorably discharged. Upon leaving the military, he joined the civilian workforce and was most recently employed at Lowe's Distribution Center in Olin, N.C., as a forklift operator.
Ronny shared his life and love with Tonya Clark and family, residing in Mooresville, N.C. He enjoyed bowling, playing cards, socializing with family and friends and coordinating outfits. He was a member of Piney Grove AME Zion church in Harmony, N.C., and served on various choirs there.
In addition to his mother, Mary Ann (William) Parsons, he leaves to cherish the memory of his life, his fiancée, Tonya Clark of the home; a daughter, Ranajae Templeton of Charlotte, N.C.; two sons, Keenan Dobbins and Carter Wedding, both of Statesville, N.C.; his paternal grandmother, Lillie Mae Kate Templeton of Statesville, N.C.; four sisters, Daphne Jordan of Gastonia N.C., Patrice Templeton of Statesville, N.C., and Kendyll Parsons and Devin Parsons, both of Monroe, N.C.; one brother, Justin Parsons of Monroe, N.C.; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. His memory will be fondly carried by those who loved and knew him.
Celebration of Life Services will be conducted on Sunday, June 30, 2019, at 2:30 p.m. at the Mary B. Bigham Memorial Chapel of Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home. Reverend John Phifer will officiate and burial will follow in the Piney Grove AME Zion Church in Harmony.
Mr. Templeton will remain at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home, where members of the family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, but they will assemble at the residence, 114 Dyson Road, Harmony, at other times.
