Mary Lea Hart
Mary Lea Hart, 76, of 1902 Ora Drive, Statesville, passed away at the Aurora Assisted Living Center in Statesville on Monday, December 25, 2017, following an extended illness. She was born in Iredell County on May 13, 1941, and was the daughter of the late Hal Eugene Hart and Ruth Ramsey Hart. She was preceded in death by two sons, a sister, Hattie Sherrod; a brother-in-law, Albert Sherrod; and a sister-in-law, Betty Hart.
She was a graduate of Unity High School and attended Mitchell Community College taking courses in Flower Arranging. She was the owner and operator of Mary's House of Flowers in M,ooresville. Mary was associated with Wise Florist and Gifts at 731 Pinewood Circle for over twenty-three years before she purchased Floral Arts by Lou. In December of 1990, Mary Hart, opened her business, Floral Arts Mary's and received a warm welcome from the Mooresville Community Leaders during a ribbon cutting ceremony, which was held at her 138 North Main Street Shop. An experienced floral designer, she opened her own shop in the location that formerly housed Floral Arts by Lou.
She leaves to cherish the memory of her life, six brothers, Harold Hart Jr. of Troutman, Herbert Hart of Statesville, Elder Charles (Rose Marie) Hart, Elder Leroy Hart, Phillip (Priscilla) Hart and Larry (Towandra) Hart, all of Mooresville; a sister-in-law, Mary Lawrence Hart of Mooresville; a special cousin, Sandra Gamble of Mooresville; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Celebration of Life Services were conducted on Saturday, December 30, at The United House of Prayer for All People. Elder E. A. Baptist is Pastor, Elder Charles Hart officiated and Elder Leroy Hart delivered the eulogy. Burial followed in the Glenwood Cemetery in Mooresville.
