Glady Mae Keaton Daniels
Mrs. Glady Mae Keaton Daniels of 534 Broadway Court, Statesville, N.C., daughter of Vernon Keaton and the late Catherine Reid Keaton, was born in Iredell County on November 28, 1946. She passed away on Monday, July 8, 2019, at the Gordon Hospice House in Statesville following an extended illness.
She was a 1965 graduate of Morningside High School and was a member of St. John Baptist Church. At one time she was a cook with Mr. Quick and Joe Phifer’s Barbeque.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Lamar Daniels; a sister, Sylvia Keaton; and a nephew, Keith “Big Boy” Keaton.
In addition to her father, she leaves to cherish the memory of her life, four sons, Anthony (Kimberly) Daniels of Statesville, Vernon (Charlene) Daniels of Winston-Salem, Travis (Iris) Daniels of Statesville, and Larry (April) Daniels Jr. of Winston-Salem; three brothers, Vernon Keaton Jr., Keith Keaton Sr. and Stevie Keaton, all of Statesville; two sisters, Sharon Clark and Stephanie (T.C.) Harris, both of Statesville; a godson, Harvey Linney Jr.; grandchildren, Tiesha Cutherbertson, Shakur Daniels, Tylikia Daniels, Keana Allison, Tyrell Daniels, Devon Lamar Heggs, Rashard O’Brien Heggs, Jermaine Cornell Heggs, Jasmine Daniels, Travis (Diamond) Daniels Jr., Jalelia Lilly, Shauntal Henderson, Larysha Daniels, Larry Daniels III, Lamia Daniels, Lamon Elijah Daniels, and Shekinah Daniels; great-grandchildren, Jamila Heggs, Devion Heggs, Zykhia Heggs, Taylee Heggs, Drema Kinney, Lezion Smith, Donavon Heggs, Madison Heggs, Lezett Smith, Travis Daniels, III, Ivoryana Daniels, Cashions Daniels, Zoey Lilly, Sklard Williams, Mesiah Daniels and Jaxon Daniels; an aunt, Beverly (Sylvester) Bullock; two uncles, Ervin (Daisy) Keaton Sr. and Marvin (Lena Mae) Keaton; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, neighbors, church family and dear friends.
Celebration of Life Services will be conducted Saturday, July 13, 2019, at 2:30 p.m. at Christian Outreach of the Piedmont. Glenn Usry is Pastor, Elder Christopher Daniels will officiate and Dr. Lonnie E. Gray will eulogize. Mrs. Daniels will remain at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home until taken to the church to lie in state at 1 p.m. Members of the family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m., but will assemble at the residence at other times.
