Mrs. Dixie (Havenner) Hare, 72, passed away January 26, 2017, after a long courageous fight with cancer.

Born June 21, 1944 in Johnson County, Kansas; she was the daughter of the late James and Lucille Havenner. Mrs. Dixie was a member of Front Street Baptist Church. She retired after 24 years from Davis Hospital as the IT Director. She was a loving and caring wife, mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her two brothers.

She leaves behinds to cherish her memory her loving husband of 25 years, David Hare; sons, Matthew (Leigha) Selves and Adam Selves; step-children, Zachary Hare, Emily Sullivan and Jennifer Clegg; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Eleanor, and Samuel Selves and Josh and Avery Selves; great-grandson, Aiden and brother, JD (Carol) Havenner.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at 2 p.m. at Front Street Baptist Church with Pastor Tim Stutts officiating. Burial will follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Monday, January 30, 2017 at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made in Mrs. Dixie's name to the Young At Heart Group at Front Street Baptist Church, 1403 W Front St, Statesville, NC 28677.
