Derrick Dwyatt Ramseur

Mr. Derrick Dwyatt Ramseur, 50, of 1013 Wall Street, Statesville, was born in Iredell County on November 30,1967, and was the son of Charlie Ramseur and Betty Jean Burton. He departed this life on Wednesday, April 3, 2018, at Iredell Memorial Hospital. Derrick will truly be missed.

He attended the Iredell Statesville Schools, where he graduated, and also had two years of college. Derrick was a certified electrician, and owned the Shelton Avenue Car Wash and his own trucking business.

In addition to his parents, Charlie Ramseur and Betty Jean Burton, Derrick is survived by five brothers; Java L. Harris, Quadarias Bailey, Charles Ramseur, Steve Allen (Francis) Burton, and Sherman (Dena) Burton; seven sisters, Harriet Irene Burton, Angela Ramseur, Antela Mosley, Shelia Ramseur (Terry) Roseboro, Elder Emily Ramseur, and Paula (Samuel) Ramseur Houpe; god daughters, LaToya Boller and Lera Chambers; friends, Tim Brown, Tory Howell, Al Bellam Sr., and Kevin Myers; and special friend, Natika Chambers.

A celebration of life will be conducted on Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at 2 p.m. at Christian Outreach Center, Statesville. Members of the family will receive friends at the church from 1 to 2 p.m., but will assemble at the residence of Fralicha Ramseur, 1208 Industrial Drive, Statesville, at other times.
