Danny Ray Eldridge
Danny Ray Eldridge, 64, of Statesville, N.C., departed this life Thursday, January 10, 2019, following a long illness.
Born March 16, 1954 at Oceana, W.Va., he was the son of the late Raymond Earl Eldridge and Eloise Maxine Paynter Eldridge. He was a graduate of Oceana High School and attended Southern West Virginia Community College. He was a coal miner in West Virginia. In 2000 he moved to Statesville and worked for General Dynamics in Conover, N.C., as a welder and fabricator.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie Lynn Harper Eldridge; two daughters, Kelli Spencer (Jeremy) of Statesville and Hollie Bath (Scott) of Statesville; one sister, Patricia McKinney of Salem, Va.; one brother, Joseph Eldridge (Debra) of Elliston, Va.; two grandchildren, Ashton Cole Eldridge and Reighley Beckett Spencer, and an expected granddaughter in May 2019, Raelyn Maxine Spencer. He is further survived by two special cousins, Audy “Red” Eldridge and Gary Eldridge; special friend, Brian Thacker, and a host of relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Linzie “Butch” Eldridge and Steve Eldridge.
Danny was an avid coon hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed spending time with his two grandsons. As a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, cousin, uncle and friend, he will be greatly missed.
