Claudine Gillon Davidson was born on May 15, 1941, in Statesville, N.C, to James “Jim” Gillon and Myrtle McMullen Gillon. She passed away on January 9, 2019.

Claudine was a member of the Belmont Church of Christ, which is now the Highland Acres Church of Christ. She loved to sing and had a beautiful “tenor” voice.

Claudine was a graduate of Unity High School, where she loved to play basketball and softball. She attended a trade school in Virginia and earned a certification to become a cosmetologist.

Claudine married Gary Davidson on October 13, 1974, in York, S.C. The couple made their home in Statesville. She had one daughter, Regina Gillon Rucker.

Claudine and Gary owned a ServPro Fire & Water - Cleanup & Restoration franchise. Their company provided Residential and Commercial Restoration Services to the Iredell County community. Claudine worked 20-plus years in the Textile Manufacturing Industry. She retired in 2005.

Claudine enjoyed cooking, decorating, entertaining and landscaping her lawn. She pampered her guests and prepared food as if she was feeding a multitude. Anything that you didn’t eat she would pack for you to take home. She would scour stores, including her favorite, the YokeFellow Thrift Store, for things no one else could see the beauty in to adorn her home. She worked in her yard to create a relaxing retreat. Her favorite hobby was yard sales, buying and/or selling, and she enjoyed each outing.

Claudine departed this life on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at the Gordon Hospice House of Statesville. She is gone from our presence now but will remain in our hearts forever. Claudine, we will miss you.

Claudine was preceded in death by her sister, Joyce Carolyn Gillon; two brothers, George Gillon and Franklin D. R. McMullen; and her daughter, Regina Gillon Rucker. She leaves to cherish her memories: one sister, Mary McMullen Morrison of Baltimore, Md.; one brother, Harold (Mae) Gillon of Statesville, N.C.; her son-in-law, Lloyd Rucker of Lilburn, Ga.; two grandchildren, Matthew Rucker and Melanie “Amaris” Rucker of Lilburn, Ga; one uncle, Stanley (Glenna) McMullen Sr. of Gloucester, Va; a dear friend, Kathy Bradshaw; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, and other loved ones.
