Mrs. Aileen Turner Donaldson peacefully entered into eternal rest on Friday, February 26, 2016, at Maple Leaf Health Care Center in Statesville, North Carolina. She was born on March 10, 1913 in Iredell County, and was the eldest daughter of the late Jule and Cecil Saddler Turner.
Mrs. Donaldson attended Morningside School before relocating to Baltimore, Maryland where she resided until 2009. During her years in Maryland she spent time with her many friends and worked faithfully in her church as a mother of the church within her beloved Cornerstone Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Everette LeRoy Donaldson; sisters Mary Turner Lackey and Louise Turner Miller; brothers Johnny Turner and Howard Turner; brothers-in-law, Ulysses Lackey and Willie Lee Miller; nephew Keith Turner of Hubbard, Ohio; nephew Joe Scott, Sr., of Statesville, North Carolina; niece Mary Ann Miller Gordie and nephew Robert Gordie, Sr. both of Statesville, North Carolina.
Left to cherish the memory of her life is a daughter, Adell Donaldson White (Franklin, Jr.) of Statesville, North Carolina; granddaughter Enid White of Statesville, North Carolina; grandson Franklin White, III of Statesville, North Carolina; niece Mildred Miller Scott of Statesville, North Carolina; niece Brenda Miller Parker (Willard) of Harmony, North Carolina; nephew Willie Edward Miller (Josephine) of Statesville, North Carolina; nephew Kenneth Miller of Statesville, North Carolina; and nephew Gary Turner of Hubbard, Ohio; 10 great-nephews and nieces, Barry (Sonia) Scott of Troutman, North Carolina, Gary Scott, Timothy Miller, Arrianne Scott, Nicole Miller, Robert Gordie, Jr., and Daniel Miller, Sr., all of Statesville, North Carolina, Antone Scott and Joe Scott, Jr. both of Mooresville, North Carolina and Denise Gillespie (Todd) of Harmony, North Carolina; cherished friend Lillie Johnson of Baltimore, Maryland, and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A visitation is planned for Wednesday, February 3, 2016, from 1:30 -2 p.m, with a service to follow at 2 p.m. at Hosley Memorial CME Church in Statesville with Rev. Barbara McCollum officiating.
