Alfred Lee Feimster
Mr. Alfred Lee Feimster, 68, of 1460 Hart Road, Woodleaf, N.C., entered into eternal life on Sunday, May 5, 2019, at his residence. He was the son of the late Floyd Lee Feimster and Martha Elwanda Houpe Feimster.
Alfred graduated with the Unity High School Class of 1968 and also attended Mitchell Community College for two years where he majored in Business Administration. He worked at Durable Fibers Technology as a machine operator. At an early age, he attended United Methodist Church in Stony Point. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged. He received the following service medals: the National Defense Service Medal, Parachute Badge, Vietnam Service Medal, Combat Infantryman’s Badge, ATR Medal and the Bronze Star Medal. He completed Basic Training and the Combat Leadership School.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Joann Feimster Cornelius.
In addition to his wife, Mrs. Darlene Gray Feimster, he leaves to cherish the memories of his life three children, Jacob Floyd Feimster, Joshua Edward (Denise) Feimster and Jasmine Nichole Feimster, all of Statesville; three stepchildren, Octavian Jarod (April) Gray of Lexington, Antuane Maurice (Takair) Gray of Salisbury and Venassa Maria Gray of the home; his sisters, Joyce (Ryan) Wade of Hickory, Beatrice (Clifford) Mayfield and Margie (Leonard) Feimster, both of Statesville, and Shelia (Larry) Hickman of Charlotte; his brothers, James (Velma) Oakley and Skip (Candi) McCall, both of Statesville, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Charles Cornelius of Hickory, John Lindsey (Priscilla) Gray of Norfolk, Va., James Luther Gray of Salisbury, Vanessa Gray McCoy and Chris Lamont Gray, both of Faith; seven grandchildren, London Feimster, Paris Mauney, Alijiah Gray, Jacob Gray, Yuriah Gray, Xavier Gray, and Devonte Gray; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life service will be conducted on Thursday, May 9, 2019, at 12 noon at Freedom United Church of God in Woodleaf. Members of the family will receive friends at the church from 11 a.m. until 12 noon, but will assemble at the residence of Mrs. Darlene Marie Gray Feimster, 1416 Hart Road Woodleaf, N.C., at all other times. Bishop Willie Joe Gray will officiate.
