United Way of Iredell moves office to downtown area
BY HALEY JONES
United Way of Iredell has moved its office from Davie Avenue to 305 North Center Street in Statesville.
The nonprofit is now located in a 1750-square-foot office in the rear of the Park Sterling building. The organization shares the building with Park Sterling Bank and Re/Max Properties Plus.
The move made sense for a couple of reasons, Executive Director Brett Eckerman said.
“While United Way is a strong tradition in this community, we still find many people don’t know about the work we do to make this a better place to live and work," he said. “We hope this new location might spark a few more conversations and give us a better opportunity to share the amazing successes our partners make happen day in and day out."
United Way made the move, in part, because of the opportunity to lease the office it owns on Davie Avenue to Partners Behavioral Healthcare, which provides services to people with mental health issues, substance-use disorder, and intellectual/developmental disabilities in Iredell and other counties.
“The agreement with Partners will also provide United Way with an ongoing source of revenue that we can use to enhance our ability to meet our mission,” added Eckerman.
United Way invites the community to stop by and see the new location during regular business hours, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“We are excited to be centrally located in beautiful downtown Statesville and hope to use this opportunity to expand our ability to serve the community’s needs,” said Eckerman.
