FROM STAFF REPORTS
A 17-year-old man was sentenced to more than 10 years in prison this week for his role in a shooting that injured three teens at the Fiesta Rodeo nightclub last March.
Statesville resident Keeven Taevon Trent pleaded guilty to three counts of attempted murder in Iredell County Superior Court on Tuesday.
Following the guilty pleas, Superior Court Judge Phillips ordered Trent to serve an active sentence of 125 to 162 months in prison with credit for time served, according to a Statesville Police Department news release.
Trent is the third suspect to plead guilty in connection to the shooting, which occurred in the parking lot.
The SPD and the Violent Crime Unit expressed their gratitude for the "hard work and cooperation" of Assistant District Attorney Elizabeth Floyd and the District Attorney’s Office for securing justice for the shooting victims.
