Two suspects have been arrested in connection with a February 10 incident in which a teen's head was grazed by a bullet during a robbery near his residence on Brevard Street.

The Statesville Police Department announced the arrests of Tyrone Lemans Dye Jr., 17, and Da’Monte Ty’Yon Morrison, 17, in a news release late Friday.

Both young men, along with a juvenile whose name was not released, have been charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, attempted armed robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Magistrate Nethken issued Dye and Morrison, who were taken into custody on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively, a $75,000 secured bond.

The SPD Violent Crime Unit investigated the case.

The 16-year old shooting victim sustained a grazing-type wound to the back of his head. He was transported to Baptist Medical Center as a precaution due to the location of the injury and was treated and released.
