SPD seeks fifth suspect in Fiesta Rodeo nightclub shooting

Another suspect in the Fiesta Rodeo nightclub shooting that injured three people last month has been arrested and the Statesville Police Department is seeking a fifth suspect.

A fourth suspect connected to the March 24 shooting was located and charged on Monday, April 9, according to an SPD news release. The suspect, a juvenile whose name and age was not released, was charged with conspiracy to commit murder.

The SPD is currently searching for another suspect, identified as Jaquez Towayne Gaines, 17, of Statesville in connection to the Fiesta Rodeo shooting, police said.

Gaines has warrants for the charges of discharging a weapon into occupied property, felony inciting to riot, discharging firearms within city limits, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and attempted first-degree murder, police said.
