SPD investigating shooting on West Raleigh Avenue

Statesville police are trying to determine who shot a 21-year-old man on Sunday evening while riding a bicycle on West Raleigh Avenue.
The victim suffered a non-life threatening injury when he was hit in the leg around 7:20 p.m. in the 300 block of West Raleigh Avenue, according to an SPD news release.
Witnesses reported hearing several shots fired, but no suspects were seen in the area, Capt. Bryan Johnson said.
The victim was transported to local hospital for treatment.
Narcotics officers conducting an investigation in the area detected very strong odor of marijuana at 1202 5th Street early Friday morning.
After obtaining a search warrant, investigators searched the residence and seized a glass mason jar containing over 105 grams of marijuana, according to an SPD news release. In addition to Ecstasy tabs, another small amount of marijuana, 17 crack cocaine rocks, and U.S. currency were also seized, Capt. Bryan Johnson said.
The following suspects were arrested:
• Okiera Donnell Myers, 34, of Statesville, charged with possession with intent to sell or deliver a schedule I controlled substance. He was also served with outstanding warrants for other drug violations. He received a $35,000 secured bond.
• Melinda Carlette Tucker, 47, of Statesville, charged with possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana, possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine, felony possession of marijuana, felony maintaining a dwelling for the sale of controlled substances, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was held on a $15,000 secured bond.
