SPD investigating numerous break-ins over the weekend

FROM STAFF REPORTS

The Statesville Police Department is investigating several break-ins and thefts over the weekend. Here are the crime reports for April 29-30:

• Breaking & Entering/Larceny from a vehicle, 200 block of Hartness Road, April 29 or 30: Someone broke into a vehicle, possibly unlocked, and stole a black Lenovo laptop in a black computer bag.

• Attempted Breaking & Entering/Larceny from carport area, 1000 block of Valley Street, April 29: Victim saw suspect walk into carport, take a leaf blower and start walking away. Victim ran outside and tackled the suspect, who dropped the leaf blower. Suspect then fled and got into a white Kia Spectra driven by another person and sped away. Suspect was a white male with brown hair.

• Breaking & Entering of a vehicle, 100 block of South Miller Avenue, April 30: Victim saw a suspect in her vehicle. Victim went outside and yelled at suspect, who fled. Suspect described as a black male, 16 or 17 years old, wearing dark clothing, with a “twisties” type hair style. Suspect fled on foot towards West Front Street. Nothing reported taken.

• Breaking & Entering/Larceny from a vehicle, 300 block of Millsaps Road, April 29 or 30: Two unlocked vehicles were entered. Cash stolen from one, and Beats headphones stolen from a second.

• Breaking & Entering/Larceny from a vehicle, 400 block of Windsor Lane, April 29 or 30: Suspect entered a possibly unlocked vehicle, stole two black leather bags which were later found under some bushes. All property was recovered.

• Breaking & Entering/Larceny of a vehicle, 300 block of North Bost Street, April 29 or 30: Suspect entered a possibly unlocked vehicle, stole cash and a stun gun.

• Breaking & Entering/Larceny from a vehicle, 500 block of East Broad Street, April 28 or 29: Suspect broke window with a rock and stole a Michael Kors purse and wallet, with cards and papers.

• Breaking & Entering, 600 block of Diamond Street, April 28 or 29: Suspect broke window pane in back kitchen door, entered and ransacked bedroom. Nothing reported taken.

• Stolen dirt bikes, 1508 Cinema Drive, Hampton Inn, April 28 or 29: Three dirt bikes were stolen from a trailer. Steel cables were cut. Property stolen: Blue 2009 Yamaha YZF250F, “Chappy”, the number “14M” on number plate; 2012 Blue Yamaha WR250F, “Rocky Mountain” on both sides of gas tank, “Chappy”; and a 2012 orange KTM 300XC, “Detroit Tigers” on plates, “Rekluse” imprint.
