FROM STAFF REPORTS
Two men face numerous felony drug charges after Iredell County Sheriff's Office deputies found them trying to hide in a home in western Iredell County where crystal methamphetamine, heroin and marijuana were seized on Monday.
Sheriff Darren Campbell announced the arrests of Vincent Cornelius Jones, 37, and Dennis Bradley York, 36, in a news release.
ICSO narcotics investigators and deputies assigned to the Aggressive Criminal Enforcement Team executed a search warrant at 119 Street Rod Loop on Monday after receiving information about possible narcotics activity at the residence, Campbell said.
Narcotics investigators had also received information that two subjects at the residence had outstanding arrest warrants for narcotics possession and sales, according to the news release.
When ICSO personnel arrived at the residence, they encountered Jones and York attempting to hide inside the home, Campbell said.
Both men were taken into custody for outstanding warrants without incident. Based on items observed in plain view inside the residence, investigators obtained a search warrant for the home.
While executing the search warrant, deputies located crystal methamphetamine, 2.9 grams of heroin, marijuana, various items of drug paraphernalia and a handgun, Campbell said.
Vincent Cornelius Jones, and Dennis Bradley York were taken to the Iredell County Detention Center.
Jones was charged with Felony Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver Heroin, Felony Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver Marijuana, Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Felony Possession of a Firearm by Felon. Jones was also being sought for outstanding warrants for Felony Conspiracy to Sell Crystal Methamphetamine, Felony Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver Crystal Methamphetamine, and Felony Sell Methamphetamine from an additional investigation that was conducted by the ICSO Narcotics Division. Jones also had two Failure to Appear Warrants.
Jones was issued a $114,000 bond by Magistrate Chambers for these charges.
York was arrested and charged with Felony Possession of Crystal Methamphetamine, Felony Possession of Heroin, and Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. York was also being sought for outstanding warrants for additional narcotics crimes from the September “Round-Up.” York also had three Failure to Appear Warrants.
York was issued a $124,000 bond by Magistrate Chambers.
Two additional suspects, identified as Jean Marie Anderson, 37, and Devin Lee Bates, 32, were not located at the residence. Investigators have obtained warrants for their arrest on the charge of Felony Maintaining a Dwelling for the Use or Sale of Controlled Substances.
“I want to thank those individuals who contacted the Sheriff’s Office with this valuable information," Campbell said. "It is information like this which comes from members of the community that assists investigators to identify those who distribute narcotics."
