Sheriff: Suspect charged in break-in, theft in northern Iredell County

A northern Iredell County resident faces two felony charges related to a breaking and entering and theft of household items following an investigation by the Iredell County Sheriff's Office.
Sheriff Darren Campbell announced the arrest of Robert Wayne Taylor, 58, in a news release.
A report was filed with the ICSO on February 22 in connection with a break-in on Taylors Pass Trail, Campbell said. The reporting person tolde deputies that a refrigerator, floor lamps, table lamps and other items were stolen and named Taylor as a possible suspect, according to the news release.
The case was assigned to a detective with the ICSO Criminal Investigation Division. During the investigation, the victim told detectives she had made contact with Taylor concerning the missing items.
Taylor had some stolen items in his possession, and the victim was able to get several of the items back, Campbell said.
Based on the evidence of the case, detectives obtained arrest warrants for Taylor. On Thursday, March 7, Taylor was arrested and transported to the Iredell County Magistrate’s Office.
Taylor was served with the warrants for felony breaking and entering into a building and felony larceny. He was also charged with one count of misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
Magistrate Chambers set Taylor's bond at $30,000.
