FROM STAFF REPORTS
A Stony Point man was charged with sexually abusing a teenager following an investigation by the Iredell County Sheriff's Office.
Sheriff Darren Campbell announced the arrest of William Robert Bulskis, 49, in a news release on Tuesday.
The ICSO began investigating on March 22 after receiving a report alleging that a 14-year-old girl had been sexually assaulted, Campbell said. The case was assigned to Detective Sgt. Jason Lowrance of the ICSO Special Victim’s Unit
During the investigation, the victim told investigators that Bulskis had sexually assaulted her multiple time between September 11, 2014, and September 8, 2017, Campbell said. The suspect is an acquaintance of the teen's mother, according to the news release.
Lowrance interviewed several additional witnesses and the suspect before obtaining seven warrants for Bulskis' arrest, Campbell said.
Bulskis was arrested on April 15 and taken to the Iredell County Detention Center. He was charged with one count of felony statutory sex offense with a child by an adult and six counts of felony indecent liberties with a child.
Magistrate Watkins set Bulskis' bond at $500,000.
