Sheriff: Four suspects charged in Alpine Circle break-in

Four suspects face felony charges in connection with a breaking and entering in western Iredell County.
Iredell County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a suspicious activity call at 224 Alpine Circle on Wednesday, July 3.
According to an ICSO news release, the homeowner’s son told deputies that when he pulled into the driveway he noticed a BMW parked on the road near the home and saw four young men running from the rear of on outbuilding.
He chased after the individuals and recognized one of them as Alexander Scott Evans, who had previously worked for his father, Sheriff Darren Campbell said in a news release.
The four men ran to the BMW that was still parked near the roadside. The homeowner's son caught up to the suspects and spoke with Evans, according to the news release. Evans said he was there working on a four-wheeler, Campbell said. The caller took a picture of the car’s license plate with his phone before the group left in the vehicle.
Responding deputies soon made contact with Evans, and the group returned to the scene.
ICSO detectives and crime scene investigators were called to assist in the investigation. Detectives interviewed the homeowner and also discovered an outbuilding had been broken into and numerous items had been removed from it, Campbell said.
After stealing the items, the suspects also attempted to steal the victim’s four-wheelers by rewiring the ignition switches, the sheriff added.
Evans, 18, and the other three individuals, identified as Zane Marshal White, 16; William Tyler Suber, 17; and John Lewis Bayne, 17; were interviewed by detectives and then taken into custody.
All four were taken to the Iredell County Detention Center, where they were each were charged with Felony Breaking and Entering, Felony Larceny, Felony Attempted Larceny and Injury to Real Property.
White was released to parents. He has a pending charge of Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana.
Evans received an $8,000 bond. He has previous convictions of Misdemeanor Interfere with Electric Monitor Device and Injury to Real Property.
Suber received a $10,000 bond. He has pending charges of Felony Breaking and Entering and Misdemeanor Possession of Paraphernalia.
Bayne received a $2,000 bond. He has a pending charge of Reckless Driving.
