Christmas in July

When: Friday, July 5, and Saturday, July 6, 8 to 11 p.m.
Where: Zootastic Park, 448 Pilch Road, Troutman
Details: Zoo opens at 8 p.m. with lights from 9 to 11 p.m. and movie at 9 p.m. Admission is $10 per person, ages 2 and older. Includes a walk around the zoo, drive-through lights and an outdoor movie. Extra activities include animal encounters, tiger feeding, giraffe feeding, barn feeding, carousel, gem mining, train rides and photos with Santa and a baby animal.


PARS & Birdies for a Cure

When: Saturday, July 6, 7 a.m.
Where: Twin Oaks Golf Club, 320 Twin Oaks Road, Statesville
Details: Come out and join Mike Hager for the Pars & Birdies for a Cure Golf Tournament. Hosted by Ocular Melanoma Foundation. Cost is $60 for one golfer or $240 for a four-man team. For more information or to register, call Mike Hager at 803-669-2567.


Yoga and Wine

When: Saturday, July 6, 10 a.m.
Where: Daveste’ Vineyards, 155 Lytton Farm Road, Troutman
Details: Please bring your own mat and beach towel. Tasting room opens at 9:30 a.m. for registration. Class fee is $12 and includes a glass of wine. Class instructor is Annette Wiley-Picard.


Chocolate Tasting

When: Saturday, July 6, 1 to 5 p.m.
Where: Daveste Vineyards, 155 Lytton Farm Road, Troutman
Details: Join us and stock up on Gourmet chocolate. Chocolate will be available to sample and purchase. No Cover charge. Regular costs apply for wine tastings.


Festival of Food Trucks

When: Saturday, July 6, 5 to 8:30 p.m.
Where: Downtown Mooresville
Details: The tables & chairs that are supplied go very quickly so bring your own chair. Lots of food trucks to pick from.


Benefit Concert in Memory of Officer Sheldon

When: Saturday, July 6, 5 to 8:30 p.m.
Where: Richard’s Coffee Shop, 165 N. Main Street, Mooresville
Details: Hosted by Kayla Vega, this free fundraising event will be accepting donations for the Jordan H. Sheldon Scholarship Fund. All proceeds will go towards this scholarship fund that will assist police cadets financially during their training at Mitchell College. There will be a raffle and live music by Kayla Vega.
