Winter Break Camp

When: Saturday, December 28, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: Statesville Parks and Recreation, 1875 Simonton Road, Statesville
Details: Open to children in grades K-5th grade. Cost is $20 a day and includes crafts, games, climbing wall, field trips and more. Lunch is not provided. Drop off time is from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. and pick up time is from 4 to 5:30 p.m. This program is open Dec. 28 and 31 and Jan. 2.


Mutt-i-grees at the Statesville Library

When: Friday, December 28, 3 to 4 p.m.
Where: Statesville Main Library, 201 N. Tradd St., Statesville
Details: Join in and create fun toys and treats for animals in need. We'll bring the supplies if you bring the helping hands! If you are earning community service hours for school, please to bring your form for a library staff member to sign. For more information contact the Youth Services Department at 704-878-3097.


Holiday Light Spectacular

When: Friday, December 28, 5:30 10 10 p.m.
Where: Downtown Mooresville, 215 N. Main Street, Mooresville
Details: The "Holiday Light Spectacular" is 150,000 lights, dancing to music, including snowmen chatting, trees dancing & more. Fun for the whole family and a community favorite. On the Lawn at Town Hall (413 N. Main Street) park in the various lots around the show & listen from your car or hop out of your car and enjoy from the concrete pad at the bottom of the show. There plenty of room for the kids to dance and sing along.


Sharpe House New Year's Tea

When: Saturday, December 29, 1 to 4 p.m.
Where: The Historic Sharpe House, 402 S. Center Street, Statesville
Details: Join us on this fifth day of Christmas and last Saturday of December as we celebrate the ending of 2018 and the dawning of a new year. Delicacies from our kitchen and from local high school students will be on the menu as well as freshly brewed black tea. Tickets are available at EventBrite.com and are $15 per adult; $7 children ages 7 to 12, with children ages 6 and under free. Tickets must be purchased by 5 p.m. on December 28.


BigFanDamily Returns to Cedar Stump

When: Saturday, December 29, 9:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
Where: Cedar Stump Pub, 152 S. Main Street, Troutman
Details: The BigFanDamily returns to The Cedar Stump Pub for a rollicking night of holiday festivities. Join Brother Josh, Uncle Mark, and Cousin Nate for a night of solid jams that won't leave you with a headache.
