Mitchell student to present at national conference

Mitchell Community College student Olivia Ocamb was recently selected to present at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) at Kennesaw State University scheduled for April 11-13.
NCUR allows undergraduate students from all fields of study to share their research via oral presentations, poster boards, visual arts or performing arts. Ocamb will be sharing her literary analysis on D.H. Lawrence's short story "The Rocking-Horse Winner" in oral presentation format. The analysis was originally completed as an assignment in her Spring 2018 Argument-Based Research class at Mitchell.
Ocamb was selected from more than 4,000 submissions and will have the opportunity to present her work to peers from across the nation. NCUR noted Ocamb’s abstract “demonstrates a unique contribution to [her] field of study.” Ocamb said the support, insight and dedication of Mitchell faculty contributed to her selection by NCUR.
“This is a rare honor for any of our students at Mitchell Community College,” said Annette Moore, English instructor. “In my current literature class, Olivia portrays herself as a bright, intelligent student who effectively expresses her analysis about literature and its relevance to our lives. I am confident that Olivia will impress the faculty and fellow students at the national conference at Kennesaw State University with her presentation.”
