FROM STAFF REPORTS

The Iredell County Sheriff's Office is asking the public to help identify a suspicious person who was attempting to break into vehicles parked off Bristol Drive.

ICSO deputies were dispatched to the area bout 2 a.m. on Friday for a report of breaking and entering motor vehicles.

While deputies searched the area, they located a light green bicycle lying in a ditch in front of 810 Bristol Drive, Sheriff Darren Campbell said.

Deputies saw a person standing in the carport of the residence. When the unknown person saw the deputies, they ran away in the direction of Reynolds Drive, according to the news release.

The person who called 911 to report the break-ins had home security camera footage of the suspect attempting to break into the vehicles and gave it to detectives assigned to the case.

The ICSO requests the community’s assistance identifying the suspect in this case. Anyone who can identify the person in these photographs or knows who has been riding this bike in the Bristol Drive area is asked to contact Detective Patrick Irwin at 704-924-4063.
