ICSO searching for missing teen

UPDATE: According to the ICSO, this missing female has been located. She is safe and has been returned to her family.

The Iredell County Sheriff's Office is asking the public to help locate a missing teen.

Lizzy Coseth Lorenzana Chavez, 16, was reported missing on Tuesday, January 29, according to an ICSO news release. She is described as 5 foot-1 inch tall and 130 pounds and has long black hair and brown eyes.

Chavez's mother told deputies that the teen was last seen at home on Monday, January 28, around 10:30 p.m. Her mother discovered she was missing around 8 a.m. on Tuesday, January 29, according to the news release.

Chavez left her home on foot and her clothing description is unknown. She reportedly took a blue-grey backpack with her.

Detectives interviewed friends of Lizzy and she is believed to be in the company of a Hispanic male in his early 20s who goes by the name of Cristhiane or “Chrasfell.” This male, who lives in Charlotte, may be driving a black Chevrolet Camaro.
