East Iredell man faces drug charges
FROM STAFF REPORTS
An East Iredell man faces multiple drug charges after Iredell County Sheriff's Office deputies searched his home on Oak Grove Road following a 911 call that was disconnected.
Deputies were dispatched to 217 Oak Grove Road on Thursday, March 8, after a 911 call to Iredell County Emergency Communications was disconnected, Sheriff Darren Campbell said in a news release.
When the deputies arrived at the home, they were met at the front door of the residence by a woman. While speaking to her about the reason they were at the residence, they noticed a very strong odor of burnt marijuana coming from inside of the home, Campbell said.
After the woman denied their request to come inside and speak about the marijuana smell, ICSO Sgt. J. Watson went to the magistrate’s office and obtained a search warrant for the home, according to the news release.
Deputies then returned to the residence and exected the search warrant, Campbell said.
During the search, deputies seized 11 grams of cocaine, 12 grams of marijuana, scales and other items of drug paraphernalia, according to the news release.
As a result of the investigation, Jack DeForest Bolden, 62, was taken into custody and transported to the Iredell County Detention Center, where he was charged with felony possession with intent to sell and deliver a schedule II controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of a schedule VI controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
Bolden received a $4,000 bond.
