ARS students win Fire Safety Bowl championship

Students from American Renaissance School won the Fire Safety Bowl, defeating their peers from Woodland Heights School in the final round to claim the tropy.

Coached by Ansley Lail, the team of Kate Allen, Carson Ball, Nicholas Fox, Ella Lockman and Eva Clendenin racked up 18 points in the championship round.

The Fire Safety Bowl is a contest for fourth- and fifth-graders to test their knowledge of fire safety. Personal trophies are given to the first-, second- and third-place teams. All the players and coaches also receive a Fire Safety Bowl T-shirt.

The competition is co-sponsored by the Iredell County Fire Marshal's Office, the Statesville Fire Department, the Mooresville Fire Department and the Iredell County Firefighters Association.
