Statesville Council considering annexation request for new Dollar General
Council meets in City Hall on Monday, Feb. 1
From Staff Reports
Developers want to build a Dollar General on 2.56 acres of land at 2046 Salisbury Highway.
The Statesville City Council, which has approved a site plan contingent upon the property being annexed, is considering a voluntary annexation of the site, which is in unincorporated Iredell County and not contiguous to the city’s primary corporate limits.
The matter is one of numerous items on the agenda for Monday’s council meeting, which is scheduled for Monday, Feb. 1, in City Hall.
The pre-agenda meeting scheduled for 6 p.m. in the third-floor conference room, followed by the regular meeting at 7 p.m. in the council chambers.
Related to the proposed Dollar General site, the Council will:
• Consider approving a resolution directing the City Clerk to investigate a petition of annexation for property located at 2046 Salisbury Highway;
• Receive City Clerk’s Certificate of Sufficiency; and
• Consider approving a resolution fixing a date of Feb. 15, 2016 for a public hearing on the questions of the petitioned annexation.
