ICSO: Three suspects linked to a dozen vehicle break-ins
FROM STAFF REPORTS
The Iredell County Sheriff's Office has identified three suspects in a dozen cases in which vehicles were broken into in the Bristol Road area, according to an ICSO news release.
On Wednesday, Aug. 31, deputies responded to the area of Bristol Road after a citizen reported observing suspicious activity, Sheriff Darren Campbell said in the news release.
Being aware of past vehicle break-ins in
the area, deputies searched the area and located three suspects,
identified as Jacob Tristan Parsons, 16, and two juveniles ages 15 and 13 years old.
At the time the suspects were located, they were in possession of items that linked them to multiple car break-ins that occurred during the night, Campbell said. The property was recovered and will be
returned to the rightful owners.
In addition to the five vehicle break-ins the suspects were tied to in the early morning hours of
Aug. 31, physical evidence and information gathered during the investigation linked them to
other vehicle break-ins in the area, according to the news release.
Campbell said the evidence ties the three suspects to a total of 12 cases in the area of Bristol Road, Cline Street and Greer Street over a 10 day-period.
Parsons was taken into custody and will be charged with the 12 counts of breaking into a motor vehicle, according to the news release.
The 13-year-old suspect was released to his parents, and the Department of Social Services took custody of the 15-year-old suspect, Campbell said. Detectives will seek charges against the juveniles through Juvenile Services.
The investigation is still ongoing.
