Theatre Statesville is excited to announce this year’s Christmas event – The Downtown Walking Tour of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. This unique format will have scenes from the beloved story performed at various locations in Downtown Statesville.

Each tour group will be led by its own narrator as they follow Ebenezer Scrooge through his night of reckoning with the three Spirits of Christmas.

In partnership with the City of Statesville and the Downtown Statesville Development Corporation and sponsored by Iredell Health Systems and Manheim Statesville, this progressive play is stretched across nearly a dozen inside and outside locations throughout Downtown Statesville.

This production is being directed by Statesville’s own Kelley Mitchell. Formerly the artistic director for Theatre Statesville, Kelly developed this show into an exciting progressive production that is now in its second year.

“We are delighted to bring this unique show back to downtown for the Holidays," Mitchell said. "Even if you saw it last year, some new locations and new faces will make this year a whole new experience you will not want to miss!”

The production is scheduled for December 7, 8, 9 and 14, 15, 16. There are five tours each night, beginning at 6:30 p.m. and starting in 30-minute intervals through 8:30 p.m. each evening.

A special companion event will be hosted at the Pasture House. Fezziwig’s Yuletide Party will feature traditional and contemporary hors d’oevres and beverages with seasonal music and dancing.
