Theatre Statesville to open 2019-2020 season with Moon Over Buffalo
Special to SVLfreenews.com
Theatre Statesville is excited to bring to the stage Ken Ludwig’s Moon Over Buffalo, which is presented by special arrangement by Samuel French Inc. at Twisted Oak American Bar & Grill.
This is the first production of the 2019-2020 season. Performances are scheduled for August 15-18 and August 22-25. Tickets are now on sale.
Moon Over Buffalo is the story of a couple of former Broadway stars who bring their struggling touring theatre company to Buffalo, N.Y., to perform a couple of shows. Throw in a scornful, deaf mother-in-law, a pregnant ingénue, a daughter who wants to live a non-show biz life and the possibility of a famous producer coming to see their show and hilarity is guaranteed to ensue.
This show is directed by Chris Kerley, who has been involved in community theatre for over 40 years.
“I believe in community theatre," said Kerley, a retired social worker, teacher and Navy veteran. "It has been a pleasure to work with this cast and crew.
"You are in for a treat with lots of laughter. After all, the true goal of community theatre is entertaining our community," he added.
Tickets can be purchased online at www.theatrestatesville.com, which is recommended due to limited seating, or at the door. In-theatre dinner seating is available from 6 to 7:15 p.m. for evening performances and by special arrangement with the Twisted Oak, there will be Sunday matinees on August 18 and August 25. Doors will open at noon for lunch and shows will begin at 2 p.m. Tickets are $15 for all shows. All tickets are General Admission so please come early for the best seats in the house.
