Parents of kindergarten to sixth-grade students can now register their children for Rescue Ranch’s three-day Winter Break Critter Camp.

The camp, which is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Dec. 20-22, offers hands-on educational experiences with animal interactions. The daily sessions will explore what life would be like if you were an animal.

The daily sessions are $40 per day. Each day focuses on a specific theme:

• Wednesday, Dec. 20 – Animal touch
• Thursday, Dec 21 – Animal sight and hearing
• Friday, Dec. 22 – Animal taste and smell

Register for all three days and save $5 per day. Extended care is available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for an additional $10 per day.

Critter Camps take place at Rescue Ranch, a nonprofit animal welfare organization located in Statesville. The nonproft uses educational programs to promote respect for animals and responsible pet ownership, as well as agricultural, environmental and wildlife conservation.

More than 80 animal ambassadors permanently reside at the 87-acre facility and include steer, a herd of Tennessee Fainting Goats, birds, lizards, hedgehogs, rabbits, snakes, mini horses and more.

Registration is required. To register for one day or all three, please visit
