Motel Soap, a classic rock, Motown and R&B band, will perform in Downtown Statesville on Friday, August 9, at the Piedmont HealthCare Friday After 5 summer concert series.
Motel Soap masters a large play list of classic hits from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. Founded in 2011, the group is made up of Rick Almond on saxophone and vocals, Alex Bost on guitar, Joe Gminder on guitar and vocals, Lonnie Carpenter on lead vocals, Gray Fallin on drums and vocals, Mark Holland on keyboards and vocals, Carlton Jackson on auxiliary percussion, Mark Jennings on bass and vocals, and Donna McMillan and Elizabeth Cooke on backup vocals.
The Piedmont HealthCare Friday After 5 concert series offers free entertainment to Statesville’s residents, neighbors and visitors in Downtown Statesville from May through September and features music of all styles. It is the perfect event to bring your family for a night of fun.
The concerts are held on West Broad Street in front of Mitchell Community College from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Beer, wine, soft drinks, sweets from Andrea’s Ice Cream & Sweet Shop and food from Bristol Cafe will be available for purchase. Bring your chairs and enjoy a great night of music, but no pets, outside beverages, or coolers are allowed.
