North American Wrestling Alliance presents free wrestling fundraiser for Sharon Alls
FROM STAFF REPORTS
The energy, action and excitement of NAWA Championship Wrestling will be on display at the I-40 Flea Market in Statesville on Saturday during a benefit performance for a local woman who is battling cancer.
Admission is free, and attendees will have a chance to meet WWE Hall of Famer "Boogie Woogie Man" Jimmy Valiant. There will be concessions, a raffle, auctions and, of course, wrestling.
There also will be a collection for Sharon Alls, who is in the midst of her fourth round of chemotherapy as she fights bone-marrow cancer. She is the mother of Adam Jones, a resident of Statesville and an independent professional wrestler.
Alls, who was first diagnosed with cancer seven years ago, was hospitalized recently and became septic, according to a NAWA news release. The family is struggling to pay for treatment and everyday life.
Saturday's event at the I-40 Flea Market, located at 1441 Wilkesboro Highway, starts at 2 p.m.
