Kids, get your bunny ears on and grab your baskets!
The first Town of Troutman Community Easter Egg hunt at ESC Park in Troutman will be held on Saturday, March 24, at 10 a.m. Kids can hunt for 6,000 eggs hidden by town staff for the event.
The egg hunt for children through age four will be on and around the park’s playground area. Older children, ages 5 to 12, will have a more challenging search for candy-filled eggs along the paved walking trail near the park entrance.
Southern Treats provided 2,000 of the stuffed eggs, along with other prizes and gift certificates for the event. Twelve golden eggs will also be hidden in the two hunts. Those lucky golden egg holders can turn them in for one of 12 gift tote bags, filled with sweet treats, a cup, gift items, and cotton candy, also provided by Southern Treats.
Along with a visit from Mr. & Mrs. Bunny, children can also enjoy ice cream and a bounce house and slide. Kids should make sure to bring their own baskets!
Parks and Recreation Coordinator Emily Watson said this event is a first for the town, which she hopes will become an annual event.
