Special to

Carolina Music Awards Country Artist of the Year Tim Elliott will kick off the 12th Annual Piedmont HealthCare Friday After 5 Summer Concert Series on Friday, May 10.

Elliott’s music is heavily influenced by classic country and bluegrass, but not defined by it. “I’m definitely not traditional,” says the man who has been known to throw cover songs into his set from artists as diverse as George Jones and Bruno Mars.

This concert series offers free entertainment in Downtown Statesville from May through September and features music of all styles. Whether you like beach music, country, blues or rock and roll, you’ll hear something you like during concert series.

The concerts are held in Downtown Statesville on West Broad Street in front of Mitchell Community College from 5:30 to 8:30 pm. Beer, wine, soft drinks and food will be available for purchase. Bring your chairs and enjoy a night of music, but no pets, outside beverages, or coolers are allowed.

New this year will be featured beers for sale from local craft breweries. Don’t miss out on You Witte Me? from Fourth Creek Brewing Co. and Blueberry Ale from Red Buffalo Brewing Co.
