Author to discuss role of faith, creativity in overcoming grief
Special to SVLfreenews.com
In an effort to promote healthy grief work, Nicholson Funeral Home invites the community to join photographer/author Mark Vogel as he speaks on the power of imagery, the emotional and memorial influence of photography, and coping with grief through creativity and faith.
The free event will be held in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 8.
Vogel’s book, “Knock and the Door Will be Opened," was published in 2014.
The author's love of photography has spanned more than three decades. He is drawn to the detail in the world around us and tries to capture God’s magnificent handiwork in his photos. His book is simultaneously engaging, comforting and encouraging.
Vogel will discuss his endeavor in a brief lecture, and books will be available for purchase and signing. The book makes a wonderful gift for someone experiencing grief and many of life’s other challenges.
Five autographed books will be given away as door prizes.
If you are unable to attend, you can learn more about the book and buy a copy at www.nicholsonfunerals.com
