Statesville Leisure Pool
Nothing says summer like the return of water slides and splash pads at the Rec Center, which opens to the public on Saturday.
When: Saturday 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. and Sunday 1-6 p.m.
Where: 1875 Simonton Road, Statesville
Details: The zero depth entry splash pad and spray playground is designed for ages 1-12 and will be a favorite of the little fishes and catch the imagination of toddlers and grandparents alike. Our Lazy River and 2 large water slides are sure to create thrills and squeals for the entire family (48" height requirement for slides). Cost is $4 for ages 12 and younger; $5 for ages 13 and older.
93rd Annual Fiddler's Grove Festival
When: Saturday, 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.; Sunday 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Where: Fiddler's Grove Campground, 1819 W. Memorial Highway, Union Grove
Description: The Oldest Continuous Run Festival of its type in North America, the festival features competitions, performances, workshops, jam sessions; clogging sessions; food and craft vendors and much more. Don’t miss the children’s show on Saturday afternoon and the barn dance Saturday evening. Saturday tickets are $15 and Sunday tickets are $5 at the gate. Children 12 and under are free both days.’
Memorial Day Picnic
When: Sunday at 12 p.m.
Where: First Baptist Church, 815 Davie Ave., Statesville
Description: Enjoy a picnic of BBQ and sides. Inflatables and kids activities, sno-cones and live music.
