Looking for an entertaining and educational family activity for spring break week?
Check out the third annual Family Fest on Saturday, April 27. The event is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Fairview United Methodist Church (349 Turnersburg Highway across from the Iredell County Health Department).
Family Fest is a celebration of learning, health and the community. The goal is to bring families and our community together to raise awareness of the services and activities available in Iredell County.
This day of fun, food, and family will kick off Mental Health Awareness Month in May. The event will feature information about local services that address mental health, substance abuse, and other support agencies for community families.
Over 30 vendors, local performers, a DJ, bounce houses, giveaways, and food trucks will be on hand. The Iredell County Sheriff's Office will also offer a Medicine Take Back area so families can dispose of unused medications for family and community protection.
Vendors include Children’s Hope Alliance, Iredell County Partnership for Young Children, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, Iredell Safe Seats, I-Care Head Start, United Health Care, Partners Behavioral Health, Mooresville Soup Kitchen, Children’s Developmental Services Agency, Willow Equine, Insight Human Services, Al-Anon, Iredell County Health Department, Iredell Sheriff’s Office, SCAN of Iredell, Brain Balance, Children’s Home Society of North Carolina, Easter Seals, Foster-Love-Repeat, Turning Point Homes, and the City of Statesville.
The event is sponsored by the Iredell County Adult and Children’s Collaboratives.
