Hospice & Palliative Care of Iredell County (HPCIC) has been named a 2019 Hospice Honors Elite recipient by HEALTHCAREfirst. This annual recognition recognizes agencies that continuously provide the highest level of quality care as measured from the caregiver’s point of view.
The Elite status acknowledges the highest-performing agencies by analyzing the performance of the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) hospice survey satisfaction measures.
HPCIC was one of only five providers in North Carolina and 60 in the nation to receive Elite recognition.
“Our mission is to provide our patients, family and community with extraordinary care,” said HPCIC CEO Terri Phillips. “It is exceptionally meaningful that this recognition is based on caregivers’ feedback, and is a reflection of the compassion and dedication shown by our staff each and every day.”
Award criteria are based on Hospice CAHPS survey results for an evaluation period of October 2017 through September 2018. Award recipients were identified by evaluating performance on a set of 24 quality indicator measures. Performance scores were aggregated from all completed surveys and were compared on a question-by-question basis to a National Performance Score calculated from all hospices contained in the HEALTHCAREfirst’s Hospice CAHPS database.
“We are excited to recognize the 2019 Hospice Honors recipients for their hard work and dedication to providing exceptional care,” said Misty Skinner, executive vice president of Services at HEALTHCAREfirst. “I congratulate Hospice of Iredell on its success in achieving this highest of honors.”
