Chamber planning 'Get to Know Statesville' Tour
Special to SVLfreenews.com
The Greater Statesville Chamber of Commerce will hold a Familiarization Tour for frontline staff at local lodging establishments and convenience stores on August 1.
If you work in the lodging and service industry, two questions you may hear often are “What is there to do in Statesville?" and "Where is a good place to eat?”
Thanks to the insight of the Board of Directors at the Statesville Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Chamber is excited to host the first “Get to Know Statesville” Familiarization Tour on Wednesday, August 1.
The goal of the tour is to shine a spotlight on some of the amazing things that Statesville has to offer tourists and locals alike. This tour is open to the frontline staff at both hotels and convenience stores.
The tour will start at 10 a.m. at the Statesville Civic Center and conclude around 4 p.m. Participant will travel by coach bus for tourss at various locations around Statesville. Lunch will be provided as well as some samples of local food.
Organizers hope participants will walk away with answers to the questions “What is there to do in Statesville?” and “Where should we eat?”
Another goal is helping build support for the idea that the travel industry is an economic engine for the area.
There is no cost for frontline staff to participate; however, participants must preregister online at http://www.statesvillechamber.org/events/details/familiarization-tour-19490
