Gina Terry has been recognized for outreach efforts by Kindermusik International, the world’s leading provider of music-based education for young children.

Terry, an early childhood specialist, also holds degrees in Music Education and Gifted/Talented Education. Terry provides the learning program at First Presbyterian Church of Statesville.

Kindermusik with Gina is available for parents and their children ages newborn to 3, as well as to all children enrolled at FPC Preschool.

“Kindermusik programs have a mission: helping children become better learners and helping parents understand how to help them reach their highest potential,” said Scott Kinsey, CEO at Kindermusik International.

The Outreach Award seeks to recognize and thank educators who make considerable efforts each year to reach under-served populations of children — those with physical, emotional, or economic challenges in their lives.

“Each child is unique and learns in different ways. Music unites us and is a beautiful medium to reach all domains – physical, social, language. It is exciting to watch even a newborn problem-solve and bond with peers. I am a lucky teacher; our classes feel like family, and KI is always providing us with new research and training to be able to bring the best experiences to our students and their parents.”

Terry is one of 15 recipients including educators from Philippines, South Africa, and the United States. She has been a licensed Kindermusik Educator since 2004. This is the sixth time she has been recognized for the Outreach Award.
