Registration underway for youth basketball, wrestling programs

The Statesville Recreation and Parks Department will accept registration for the 2017-2018 Youth Basketball Program and Youth Wrestling Program through Friday, October 20.
These programs will begin in November and run throughout the winter.
The Youth Basketball Program is open to boys and girls, ages 5-18. A number of leagues will be offered for the different ages including: 5-6 year old and 7-8 year old Instructional Leagues, 9-10 year old Pee Wee League, 11-12 year old Midget League, 13-14 year old Junior League, and 15-18 year old Senior League. The age cut-off for the program is October 15, 2017.
The Youth Wrestling Program is open to youth between the ages of 6-12 years. The age cut-off for the program is January 1, 2018.
Registration for Youth Basketball and Youth Wrestling will be accepted at the following times and locations:
Statesville Recreation and Parks Administrative Office
1875 Simonton Road
Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Statesville Fitness and Activity Center
1875 Simonton Rod
During regular operating hours when Administrative Office is closed.
Registration fees for both the Youth Basketball and Youth Wrestling Programs are $10 for city residents and $15 for persons living outside the Statesville city limits. A birth certificate will be required for any first year participant signing up for either program.
