North Iredell's varsity boys soccer team bounced back from a tough loss to South Iredell with a dominating 5-1 win against East Rowan on Raiders Senior Night.

Travis Wilcox recorded another hat trick before half time. Hunter Cape added a slashing goal from the right side, and Juan Nieto finished a nice goal after dribbling past defenders deep in the box late in the game.

It was an entertaining game as Wilcox spent most of the second half dishing the ball to teammates. including keeper Scout Hix, who came out of the goal to try a bit of field play as striker. Wilcox added an assist and Dylan Coltrane was superb, adding four assists for the game.

North's defense turned in a stellar performance, led by senior Ezra Moorefield and junior Hunter Ketchie, who controlled the air game by winning header after header. Hix recorded two saves.

North finished third in the North Piedmont Conference under first-year coach Tyler Carter and still has a chance for a playoff bid. The Raiders were 10-5-2 overall and 6-3-1 in NPC play.

The Raiders JV team finished runnerup in the conference, giving Raiders' fans confidence that the program will compete for a conference title in 2018.
