Prep Basketball: Lake Norman boys, North Iredell girls claim tournament titles

Lake Norman 80, South Iredell 62: The Wildcats seized control of the championship game with a 27-point second quarter and cruised to a win over South Iredell.

Five different Lake Norman players scored in double figures as the Wildcats improved to 10-2 on the season. Zane Haglan led the way with 17 points.

Ty Everhart scored a game-high 24 points to lead the Vikings (9-3).

The teams will square off again on Jan. 3.

North Iredell 54, Mooresville 34: The Raiders' tandem of Rachel LaLonde and London Liles was too much for the Blue Devils to handle as North Iredell won the Holiday Classic championship.

Liles poured in 30 points and LaLonde scored 20 to lead the Raiders, who improved to 13-2 on the season.

Alecsai Allen led Mooresville (8-5) with 16 points.

Statesville 103, Carolina International 98: Izaiah Gathings and Miykei Fields had 26 points each and Jeremiah Mott added 18 as Statesville prevailed in a high-scoring affair.

Tavion Jones scored 41 points to lead Carolina International.


South Iredell 47, Pine Lake 30: Lindsay Durham scored 15 points to lead the Lady Vikings to their second win in three days in the Holiday Classic.

Sarah Nelson had 12 points and Lydia Mercer added 10 for South Iredell.

Caroline Coleman had a game-high 16 points to lead Pine Lake.


Pine Lake 79, North Iredell 49: Alex Cluff scored 18 points to lead the Pride to a lopsided win. Josh Barnette and Dimarco Small added 16 each in the winning effort.

Antonio Allison scored 11 to lead the Raiders, who trailed 42-21 at the half.


Lake Norman 55, West Iredell 30: Lauren Sullivan poured in 21 points as the Wildcats knocked off the Warriors. Eleven different players scored for Lake Norman.

Mac Inscore scored 13 to pace the Warriors.


Mooresville 68, West Iredell 45: Treye Gunnings scored 23 points to lead the Blue Devils to a win in the Holiday Classic.

Bobby Davis Jr. added 10 points for the Blue Devils.

Mooresville erupted for 27 points in the third quarter, while West Iredell managed just four in the quarter, to turn a close game into an easy win.

Hayden Blohm paced the Warriors with 10 points.


Statesville 89, Carolina International 6: Four Greyhounds scored in double figures as Statesville scored 34 points in the opening quarter and cruised to a win.

Sha'Kiya Bowman led the Greyhounds' scoring barrage with 15 points. Siya Robinson had 12 points, Aleia Fields scored 10 and Madeline Simmons netted 11
